Fanreport Shows Marconi Studio (VRT)

What a day!
Ronald and I went to this gig Sunday. In the room you could choose or you could get
a place on a balcony or on the ground floor. We chose to get to the ground floor so
we could stand close to the stage, first row :D After someone told everybody the
"house rules" it was time to start this evening.
There she was our dearest Katie and she looked breathtaking. She started by explaining
that she was glad everyone was there and she would sing some songs from her new album
and a few "oldies". I hadn't listened to her new album befor this evening, so every song
of her new album was completely new for me. I just wanna to hear the songs live before
I would listen them from the cd.
She started the evening with the song "The Flood." Her third song she sang was I think
my favorite song on this album, Red Balloons. It was breathtaking and the red light just
completed it all.
While changing from guitar, Katie told a few anecdotes.
For example she told that the hotel she stayed in had also a swimming pool. So in the
morning she swimmed a little. But she saw it was such a lovely weather outside, she also
took a sunbath(?). She therefore thanked the audience that they had brought some good
weather in Brussels. (I already checked if there are any hotels in amsterdam with
swimming pool)
I was very pleased she chose to sing Kozmice Blues as well. It will always be a song who
will gives me immediatly goosebumps.
Eventually she sang almost all the songs from her new album (maybe 1 or 2 not) and the
Closest Thing To Crazy and Nine Million Bicycles .Love her new album.
And after a slightly longer back hometrip as planned (took wrong train), it was again an
evening never to forget.
Finally, I thank Ronald and Katie's Dutch and Belgium promoter for making this unforgettable
evening possibel. Thanks!
